Greatest Hits

September 7: San Francisco, California

We are back!

By popular demand, here is a post of our greatest hits. If you only read a single post, this is the one. Oh, and you should definitely check out our map.

We traveled for four months. This is what we did:

Trekking in New Zealand - New Zealand is stunning. Our first month we walked amongst its most magnificent mountains, on the famous Milford, Routeburn, Keplar, and Mount Cook treks. If strapped for time, check out our photos and video from the Milford Great Walk.

Scuba Diving in Indonesia - Next, we spent a glorious month exploring Indonesia’s underwater treasures. The highlight was the five-day liveaboard in Komodo National Park, but Lembeh gets a shout-out for its super crazy critters.

Marveling at China - Finally rejuvenated, we were ready for a little more adventure and spent our last two months trying to get a sense of China in all it enormity and complexity. We dedicated the first three weeks to “survival Chinese” in Yangshuo, cycling and rock climbing in the breathtaking karsts. From there, we headed west - feasting on spicy Sichuanese cuisine in Chengdu, biking for 10-days up onto the Tibetan plateau, and ultimately gazing upon the North Face of Mount Everest on the border with Nepal. Our conflicting emotions about China are best captured in our posts on Tibet, Beichuan, and Jiuzhaigou.

We also made very short stops in Manila, Kathmandu, Delhi, and Bangalore.
